Yeah that channel basically ever agency on the LCRA P25 system up IH 35 have the pursuit channel(Live Oak area to New Braunfels and I have heard Hays and San Marcos on it before.) And as Don said they can patch to any channel on the Provoice System if they head into San Antonio or the Bexar area and patch to any VHF as well. As far as Kendall they have the same capabilities to patch to channels. I think it is lack of training or just things happening so fast and phone relay of info may be easier for them. The other problem is the Live oak tower is the only one in Bexar County for the LCRA So users coming into SA on IH 10 will hit dead spots.

I have heard a Kendall SO Sgt. tell a dispatcher that they can patch an ops talk group to Gillespie County for something awhile back but the dispatcher said just switch to Hill Country Common and talk with them. The Sgt. seemed a little mad that they had no idea how to patch channels.

Cibolo is working a fatal accident on I10 this morning. I'm hearing lots of on scene unit to unit talk on tg12114. Must be another back channel or ops channel. I don't see it listed in DB.

These tgs are not listed in the db because they are in the clear not encrypted.

Bexar County SO East Patrol was patched to Converse PD channel 2 today. Have seen this a few times when Converse helps cover calls for the SO. When Converse is through assisting they announce the date and time then patch is closed. I don't know why they don't just hard patch the East channel to the LCRA system. Guess it's policy or politics.

I have seen that before. That would be nice if all of BC and SA Primary tgs were hard patch to the LCRA P25 system.

I think it all has to do with politics and policy wise on the SA and Bexar County side. It took over a decade for BCSO to get SAPD channels in all their radios. And I think Live Oak finally has access to the Provoice system to monitor SAPD, even though they have had the ability for years.

New TG: 15004

Heard a radio check on this TG, it was announced as the BISD Security Channel.

I wonder what security they are going to have. I know BPD has an officer assigned to the middle schools and high schools so I wonder if it is for the district offices or something.

I wondered the same thing. I spoke with a bus monitor about the new radios and was told that each school has a handheld to talk to the buses. I'm sure its a learning curve, the previous system had numerous dead areas in the county and in S.A. She said this is much better, I have heard field trips talking about traffic near the Witty museum.

Yeah that is why they pop up on the Live Oak site from time to time. The car radios work downtown for all the users pretty well and the Live Oak site is the farthest tower south for the P25 system. I am surprised at how weak to no signal I get from the Boerne site at I-10 and 1604.

Boerne Fire was working a rescue off of Ops 2 and they had dispatch patch Ops 4 to EOC for Airlife. I always thought they patched VMED28 (155.340) to one of the ops channels since as far as I know Airlife doesn't have all of the LCRA P25 system channels programmed in.

That freq is assigned to the Bastrop site. Weather conditions were probably right for the band to be open so you can pick up far away sites and frequencies you can't during normal conditions.

I can also see the new site from the Kingsbury site. Here is what the Kingsbury site is showing.

Smithson Valley is a beast of a site. I can pick it up full quiet on my 668 with a comet miracle baby inside my car at 775 and 181. I prefer it over Live Oak because beorne, Kendall and Gillespie are active as well as the typical Randolph metro TGs.
