Heard some chatter today on Talkgroup 1. Not sure how many talkgroups are available for this service. I imagine atleast 2. One for Paging/Response and 2 for On Scene TAC.

Caught this while in Ottawa.

Good Morning, I regularly monitor the Leeds County Fire and I have only had two talkgroups show up and both were for Dispatch Control talking to unit either going to or on scene. On this system the RID's are divided into the departments in the County.
RID's starting with 1xxx FRONT OF YOUNG 8xxx KITLEY/ELIZABETHTOWN
2xxx RIDEAU LAKES 9xxx MERRICKVILLE
3xxx NORTH AGUSTA 10xxx NORTH GRENVILLE
4xxx LEEDS & 1000 ISLANDS 11xxx PRESCOTT
5xxx UNKNOWN 12xxx BROCKVILLE
6xxx ATHENS
7xxx EDWARDSBURG/CARDINAL
When units are dispatched to a fire it is done by way of Text/Numeric PAGERS on a frequency of 154.430 and can be decoded using
SDR SHARP combined with PDW decoder. I welcome updates if anyone has some..........................

What's the other talkgroup on this frequency? I've logged Talkgroup 1 and added it to the database. Monitoring as a 1 frequency trunk system is how you get all the RID's helps ID units responding. Or just simply program it as a conventional channel if the IDs are not important to you.

I saw Grenville show up today as a conventional channel while I was in the city again. But I didn't have that one open to monitor as a 1 frequency trunk. I figured it'd be too far away and had it locked out.

I sense the Grenville County frequency to be the same setup?

As tayridge mentioned there are 2 channels on the Leeds & Grenville Fire Plus Paging we run the live scanner for L&G so Grenville is following as you have it posted Leeds as you have posted paging is done on 154.430 plus 154.070 Ontario Fire Marshal. Gan Fire Has own repeater they use and RLFD also has repeater they use

So I logged Talkgroup 1 for Leeds, what's the other talkgroup # ? Talkgroup 2? Do you have proper titles or names of the channels? and can they be updated in the database if that info is confirmed?

So are you saying that Talkgroup 1 - Leeds and Talkgroup 2 - Grenville is the same on both entries here? Also, are the RID's the same on both? If so, would this not make this a conventional networked system? or a 2 frequency trunked system?

Or given how the following entries look.

166.965 TG 1 - Leeds County Fire Response TG 2 - TAC
164.325 TG 1 - Grenville County Fire Response TG 2 - TAC

164.325RM316 NACGrenville FDFire - Grenville CountyP25Fire-Talk

Those are Both Dispatch Channels Not Fire Talk So Top One Would Read Dispatch East
Leeds Is Dispatch Channel For The West Reads On The Radios Dispatch West

Have no Idea where your getting this TG-1 from as stated dispatch Ids 11 12 13 15
Both those Freqs need to be in the scanner as Leeds Dispatch is Separate Then Grenville

So all Brockville Aug Prescott Mrkv Edwardsburg so on are on Grenville dispatch
EK RL Athens LTI FOY so on are all on Leeds Dispatch

Talkgroup 1 is what I logged while in Ottawa. Your dispatch IDs I think you are confusing with Radio IDs. You say there is 2 channels? do you mean 2 talkgroups? Because I logged Talkgroup 1 as just that. A talkgroup on the Leeds County Frequency programmed as a 1 frequency trunk system. Not as a conventional channel.

Not sure why it is that but what I have provided you is how the system is set up and it is simucast system bouncing of 7 towers so if you have both channels in your radio you would hear all. If you were in Ottawa and it landed on Leeds you would be getting Toledo tower or Millers Corners Or Smith Falls Sight

How do you listen to this system? Via radio or SDR? On my 436 If I program it as conventional frequency then no Talkgroups, or Radio IDs show up. But if I program it as a 1 frequency trunk system, then the radio IDs as well as the actual talkgroup used will show up. Hence, the Talkgroup 1.
