I used to like to listen in to the National Grid guys when there was a power outage. It gave me an idea on when they would be working in my area and where/how big the outage was.

Since the purchase of National Grid by Liberty Utilities in NH....I have been unable to find the frequencies they are now using.

Has anyone been able to find them?

Nothing in the FCC for
Liberty Utilities or the parent Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp

PS - don't confuse Liberty Electric [Local Electrician] and Liberty
Utilities

They have been doing a lot of work here in Pelham lately. It appears the techs are using cell phones. Trucks do have VHF Antennas. I did a search of their parent company and they have 49.020 listed for many sites in country. I have had it plugged in and get no activity. They now have a dispatch center in londonderry and may be worth a trip one day and try to capture it in the CC feature on my radio

Only doing a little google searching, you folks in NH might know more.

Ron - 49.02 is Algonquin Gas. Is this actually the same as Algonquin Power ?
49.0200 seems to be the Common Northeast Algonquin Gas Freq (NY, NJ, CT, MA, RI)

NH Utilities mentions Liberty but they have no links under Electrical, they only show Liberty under Gas as Liberty Utilities | Natural Gas however experimenting with the web site shows Liberty Utilities | Electricity for NH...hmmm

Taking that FCC Freq and then searching using the FRN still shows NO NH Licenses. - Not even a pending...

These 3 licenses bear monitoring
ULS License - Industrial/Business Pool, Conventional License - KC3762 - Algonquin Gas Transmission , LLC
ULS License - Industrial/Business Pool, Conventional License - KDD403 - Algonquin Gas Transmission , LLC
ULS License - Industrial/Business Pool, Conventional License - KQ9690 - Algonquin Gas Transmission, LLC

Even NYNEX has moved to using Cell/BB only, no more Two-way

Just to rule it out; did they definitely leave the frequencies they were previously using? When National Grid Natural Gas became Liberty Utilities up this way in Concord Area, only the vehicle lettering changed. They still used the same radio/data system they previously had. That system of course is some weird cell/data/MDT system.

Didn't think so. But wanted to rule that out. National Grid Natural Gas had licensed 452.7750 and 463.6000 at several sites MotoTrbo, but I never heard anything on them. If I remember, next time I'm working I'll call down to the Natural Gas Dispatcher and ask what he knows. The gas guys use a MDT/Terminal type system and maybe cell.

It's rare, if ever, anyone you can call would know. Especially if/when they don't have their own radio/comms shop. It's usually a guy within the company that him/herself has an interest in Comms that has it, if anyone. Even that's rare now with cellphones and data equipment becoming much of the communications platforms.

But then again, they can't say no if ya don't ask.
