That's a ridiculous statement. Calling to find out the status won't bury your paperwork. He just passed the test and is anxious to get on the air. Sometimes you have to call because people make mistakes and his application could have been misplaced, who knows. The FCC works at a snails pace most of the time.

I don't know you have a Amateur license or not. The FCC has nothing to do with how long it's taking. But you must not know how fast the FCC issues licenses. Just look at our VE sessions to see how fast that they do work. It will give you the test date and scroll down to the bottom you will see the updated date. Which is the date that the info on the calls was posted. We send it in and it's done in about 1 hour or less. I can only tell you what I know has happened for the last 6 years. Just click on dates to the left.

Some of us old timers had to wait 3 months to get the paper license in the mail before we could get on the air (pre-internet days.) Talk about a long 3 months!

I feel your pain! I took my Tech Plus test in early October 1992 but the license was not granted until December 29. To make matters worse, the license did not show up in the mail under the middle of January!

Remind me again what was so good about "the good old days" ???

At least I didn't have to walk up hill both ways to take my tests!

Thanks! I had my VE Team call them because the lady form the FCC got cocky with me, and a few minutes later it was in the ULS!

Now that the OP is licensed, his issue with getting his application processed is resolved. Therefore, I am closing this thread.
