If you want that link to work without having to do the open url thing just type it as mms://172.157.28.114:8080
Just click it and it will open in Windows media player and play.

it didnt work for me until went into the options in windows media player and added the mms option. had it auto detect and everything works fine now.
btw- that was in windows xp pro

Yeah the http:// link will work you just have to manually put it in the media player under File-Open URL-type in url with http:// or mms:// It took me for ever to figure out about that mms:// but I found it in the help file for the media encoder. (go figure)

Trapperjeff - if you have web storage space anywhere, the best solution is to make an ASX file, which is basically a Windows Media Player playlist file.

Here is the format: (trapperjeff, you just need to cut and paste the text into notepad and save as nameofyourscanner.asx)

This will eliminate the problem that wesct had, and possibly many others will have.

If you don't have any web storage space, it probably won't be too hard to find someone to host the file for you. It is only about 100 bytes or so. Temporarily, I have it hosted at http://eldoscanner.servebeer.com/manatee.asx

I don't have a link or anything on my website, I just thought you would like to see how the file works.

ok , I get home today and all of my computers are off, I reboot and I can't get anything online then i rember talking with andy128 that this might happen and sure enough it did.... My ip adress changed. I know..I know Get a apc back up power supply....

I am going to try to call my ip provider tomorrow and see if I can get a static address any other words of advise.......I would appricate any...
