Hello All
Just wondering if anybody has been listening 412.8875 I must of missed the first call.
They dispatched many unions from essex and kent county to St Thomas detachment and they would get further details upon there arrivals.

Does anybody know whats going on.

Thanks.

For whatever reason the OPP are keeping this one quiet.
WHat the Toronto Star said today is that 8 men were found murdered on a remote road
near St. Thomas.
The paper said all 8 men were from Toronto and there was a tow truck on the scene from Toronto.
Locals did not seem surprised, calling it something along the lines of remote justice.
There was made mention that this is biker related, there are plenty of gangs in London.
Eventually the OPP will have to go public with this one, kinda sounds like the end of the movie Casino to me (corn field, remote...)
That and the fact that some guy got jacked for 1 g-note playing bingo and was found murdered in a bingo hall.. (Toronto Fri nite) wierd weekend.

I think you can safely assume this one is related to organized crime in one way or another. Apparently there is a second scene on a separate property not far from where the bodies were found.

Did anyone see the CP photo in the newspaper of the body in the trunk? Whoever shot that one just made a bunch of money...

I'm here a lot
I'd bet that they are using cell phones for the sensitive stuff.
It might be a good idea to monitor peripheral activity , such as media . There's gotta be local members of this forum within listening range .

They'e got access to encrypted tg's do they not?

CTV also had the trunk body shot as well as the name of the tow ompany. This could be the beginning of a very messy summer...remember the biker battles in Montreal?

Well, before anyone hyperventilates too much about biker gang wars, remember that this is the worst mass killing in Ontario history. If it's biker related (and we'll find out soon enough, perhaps today or tomorrow even) the OPP are gonna throw as many resources at the investigation as they have.

It may be interesting listening in the next few weeks in the vicinity of any prominent biker clubhouses, if indeed this is biker related. I'm not sure of the location of any clubhouses outside of London and Niagara, but there could be a lot of (encrypted?) chatter going on this spring and summer in relation to this incident.

Time, as always, will tell. I've got a friend in Shedden, and I certainly don't wish this kind of notoriety on the people in that town...

What's weird about the bingo hall incident is that the suspects are four women !

Richmond Hill in the south of York Region and Keswick in the north of York region are a couple of biker hot spots. There has been some increased chatter on the investigative talkgroups so far today in the Keswick area and now news reports are suggesting that one of the eight was from there. So far York hasn't been using any of their encryption but I understand they've got access to MIKE phones for some of these operations this year.

Indeed not the kind of thing that Sheddon would likely want to be recognized for...Or any place for that matter...I'd bet TPS homicide is kind of relieved that it happened outside of metro though. They've got enough trouble clearing homicides.

Here's to hoping all hell doesn't break loose and that this was the end to something that's been brewing for a while--not the beginning.

Well everyone, I just listened in on the presser from Shedden and the OPP arrested five people at a farm on Aberdeen Line. All five are charged with 8 counts of murder and will appear in St. Thomas court this afternoon.

All those named (deceased and accused) were members of the Bandidos.

Interesting. So much for turf wars then...More like "domestic dispute". Thanks for the update jellotor...much better than what will likely be spewing from the 6 o'clock news. I take it that second address is the one raided yesterday.

As I rub my crystal ball I can see the words publication ban sometime later this afternoon :)

I'd imagine they do... But they don't seem to use them much. I was listening and watching Trunker most of yesterday, and the TRU team was on both TAC01 and OPS04 (Elgin). Mostly just idle chatter, radio checks and 10-20 checks. The TRU team typically uses simplex P25 encrypted frequencies for the good stuff, so I can only assume that's what they were on yesterday. But they certainly do carry Fleetnet radios.... Just don't seem to use'm much. I'll hafta look thru my logs and see if any of the TRU team radio ID's I saw active yesterday have been seen on any of the encrypted Investigative talkgroups.

They sure were pretty quick to get that 'no fly zone' established, that's for sure!

There's a picture of some OPP members a few pages into the Toronto Star that shows one of the members wearing a Garmin Rhino.

If anybody is close, it would pay to check the FRS and GMRS frequencies.

Or as they said at the 3:00pm press conference, "Internal Cleansing".

Interesting side note. The house belonging to the victim from Keswick has a Durham cruiser sitting in front of it and is sealed. back in December there was a guy missing from this same street. I hadn't been down that way at the time so I don't know for sure that it's the same house but it sure seems odd. He was found dead just inside the Durham boundries so they have been conducting that investigation and have done extensive searches of the house several times since then. Perhaps they're all putting 2+2 together now and the total will go to 9?

btw, just in case anyone is not aware of it...Keswick is in York region, so whatever is going on clearly has a Durham connection.

It'll be interesting to see if any of the media pick up on this. Durham was really tight lipped when the body was originally found.

I know someone that lives in the area so I've asked to be called if any OPP should start pulling onto the street.

There have been 2 unmarked cars at the house of the guy from Sutton (actually Jackson's Point) most of the day too.
