Hello. Currently using BCT15X. Been listening to FRES Ops 3 for quite awhile now without issues but about 2 days ago I stopped receiving. Thought it was a programing issue so I reprogramed using Free Scan and using the radio reference database. I even switched to a back up radio and same issue. Is it possible there was a frequency change?

Did they migrate to the P25 system?

They were active about a week ago on the smartzone system. Only like 40 tgs still in use there as they are all moving to the newer system.

They are active on the P25 system on Sites 4.

I have an XTL2500 P25 capable in my shop thats just laying around. Would that be an alternative to purchasing a P25 phase 1-2 bearcat?

No. XTS is not capable of TDMA.
I'm by no means advocating anyone use commercial radios on the Suffolk system if they aren't authorized: However, an XTS or XTL will work fine (currently), Suffolk isn't using TDMA for pretty much any of the talkgroups, including the FRES TGs, on the 800 cell. The 700 cell on the other hand -- is a different topic and uses primarily all TDMA.

In the end, the plan is, unless it change, to have all fire on the phase 2 side. So the op would at that point need something for that.

Any thing that was on the moto type 2 system will be on the 800mhz p25 system. The fres ops will be on the 800mhz p25 system.

I just programmed a BCD996P2. The only thing I’m looking to pick up is FRES OPS 3 since I couldn’t pick it up anymore with my BCT15x since 2 weeks ago. I have it held on 800Mhz simulcast/County Fire/Fres OPS3. Hopefully that will do it. It’s picking up control channels with no issue. I tried the 700mhz East simulcast but I couldnt hit the site.
