I've lost the receive of DuCom/DuPage Cty. [Ill. Starcom 25] of group 2608 Elmhurst/Oakbrook Terr. on my BCD996XT. I've tried every program change I can think of. Broadcastify has this channel live. Listening to group 2608 on the computer is clear, but nothing on my BDC996XT. I have all of DuCom programed the scanner and all the other channels are fine. I've used the programing info from one of other channels; changing the group to 2608 and still nothing. I have a BCD996P2 in my car and it receives group 2608 fine, along with all the DuCom channels. Any idea what I'm missing. Thanks in advance.

TGID 2608 is a TDMA talkgroup which the 996XT cannot track. You will need to upgrade to a P25 Phase-II (TDMA) capable scanner to track the mode "T" talkgroups on this system. The 996XT will only be able to track the mode "D" talkgroups on the system

I have a BCD996P2 in my car and it receives group 2608 fine, along with all the DuCom channels.
The 996P2 is P25 Phase-II TDMA capable so this is why the talkgroup (and any other TGID identified as mode "T") can be received fine on the P2

The DuPage site is a simulcast site, so problems still might occur. Simulcast distortion is well covered here, and the scanner can be finicky due to many variables. Silence might not be a lack of activity, but lack of control channel decoding.

Now...the bad news. It's been reported all Law Enforcement DuComm talkgroups will be encrypted in the near future. Many departments are now in possession of APX8000's as was reportedly to occur. Radios had to be upgraded first before any changes were to happen.
