I've been listening to 168.275 most of the morning. Lots of APCO-25 traffic on it (almost every minute). I woke up this morning to 168.350 w/ APCO-25, but I haven't been able to tell if they seem to be related or not. I don't have an APCO-25 scanner, so can anyone w/ digital monitor these freqs and try to ID them? The first one shouldn't be hard, as active as it is.

The only kinds of service that usually use these freqs (I believe) are Bureau of Indian Affairs, Land Management Bureau, and National Parks Service. Also, 168.350 is a federal itinerant freq.

What I'm hearing on 168.275 is not APCO. It's encryption. Everything I can find points to Bureau of Land Management

Interesting.....but why would the BLM need encryption?

(maybe it to keep those pesky oilfield or farming people out of their business)

I used to hear nothing but DES encryption (hissing) on 168.275, but I know I heard APCO-25 (machine gunning) on there nearly all morning last week, and on 168.350 as well. I caught a little bleedover in the clear from 168.3625 (VA Hospital) but that was definately a separate freq. If you keep listening, they may switch around a little or something.
