All,

I've asked this before several years ago, but never received a response...but does anyone have a list of Loudoun County Sheriff Radio signal codes? I've heard them on the Dulles channel several times mentioning Signal 1, Signal 2, Signal 3. I believe they correspond with requesting a rescue/BLS/ALS unit, but I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks,

Andy

I don't know about Loudon specifically, but there 4 signal codes that are supposed to be common everywhere in Virginia.

Signal 1 - Need emergency backup. Danger to life or limb.
Signal 2 - Need backup/assistance.
Signal 3 - Taking/recommend taking subject into custody
Signal 4 - Sensitive communications. Recommend stepping away from subject/citizens

These were supposed to be adopted by all state and local public safety agencies in 2006. Though a lot of agencies like VSP have slowly slid back into their old bad habits.
