Let 'em fly low and fast. There is nothing cooler than having 3 or 4 fly over a rural road in front of you. Not quite the same as when the B-52's from Blytheville used to fly low in NE Arkansas, but cool anyway.

Does the Airbase still get a bunch of calls from tourists saying "I think I saw several planes getting ready to crash?" I know they used to get lots of calls during the summertime tourist season.

The Freqs are changed on a daily basis and are SECURE!! I know, I fly on them.

If they (the C-130's) are bothersome (ie: rattling the walls...etc) complain to the base or Little Rock approach control. Until you do, it is "free" game. Several routes have noise abatement areas as the result of those who complained. Realize also, that Little Rock AFB is a training base, ...we gotta train like we fight!...

The C-130 is a cargo aircraft, but we do other things than just carry pallets of cargo at safe altitudes away from danger. Sometimes we get down to around 500 feet or below to prepare/train for the airdrops to the troops on the ground fighting the War on Terrorism. Maybe to one of your friends or family members....hmmmm? A minute or two of noise is a small price to pay for your FREEDOM don't you think??
Just be thankful that they are not B-1's and also be thankful for being able to do the things we do...LIVE FREE! Thanks to the military.

I did not see anywhere in the above posts where noise was mentioned, I could be wrong but I did not see it,,
I live about the middle of the southeast point to the northwest point of their flight path in Southwest Arkansas. Both the 130 and the J's fly sometimes low enough that I waved to the right pilot and he waved back, (tree top level), 500 feet max I would say at times and there are some prop noise and vibration on the 130's but the J's are very quite, by the time you hear them comming they are over the top of you.

What I am saying is they do not bother me at all and should not anyone else. Go for it C-130 crews.

Yes, to your question and a few locals are still calling in from time to time, mostly to complain.

My favorite route is what we call the White River tour--Flying north to Greers Ferry @ 500' AGL at 230 KIAS out over the lake then turning north again into the hills, down in the valleys then hitting the White River down to Batesville, then SW toward Romance and the Drop Zone.

I have seen things from the air that can't be explained on this media, but it does envolve a man and a woman. During deer season I can spot the blaze orange for miles. Cool stuff.
