I am hearing from 150-300 khz a loud interfering signal. The lower the frequency the louder it is, it is louder at 150 khz then 300 khz . . . it is a noise ,right at 150 - 300. As you go up in frequency ,in most cases it gets weaker, by the time you get to say 400khz it is more of less gone.
What am I hearing ?
It sounds much like a VHF/UHF trunking system sounds on an analog radio ,with that "loud / low frequency whining sound" ,any ideas.

Do you have one of those wireless battery chargers for smart phones?

try turning off breakers in your house to isolate the noise.

Unfortunately, could be most anything around the home...
fluorescent lamp electronic ballast, "wall wart" power supply, computer, TV,
battery charger, appliance, cable modem, etc, etc... the list
goes on and on. If you have a portable with LW capability you may try to DF
the noise source.

Aside 2200m being pretty tough here in New England during the summer months - my biggest problem are old deteriorating transformers on the power lines, some miles away. I would guess all of them have an arc somewhere. Hard to see them even with an IR camera if they're arcing inside the oil chamber.

Luckily there are plenty of NDB's from the Canadian Maritimes still out there to hold us over until the leaves fall. If anyone's looking for them - I've got a short list up on my QRZ page.

yup, deteriorating power lines will generate QRM for miles

Otherwise, concerning the Maritime NDBs, you may want to try logging 254 5B Summerside while you can as it is on the decommissioning list.
AFAIK, it is the last one on PEI.
