I've gotten the airwing on MSP trunking system TGID 35472 and also on the 800 MHz conventional system. I'm guessing the radios on the helos can access any of the freqs. that MSP uses such as low band, 800 MHz, trunking, etc.

Hope this is helpful.

This is correct. They also can pretty much access any frequency of any department as needed.

Yup the msp airwing is dispatched on talkgroup 35472, but can talk to anybody in the state, they actually keep a copy of the scanner master book pocket guide in the chopper for reference. They could talk to any police or fire department that isn't encrypted in Massachusetts. When I heard the airwing coming into my city for a perp search, they asked their dispatch for new bedford police frequency if they were using channel 1 or channel 2 the dispatch specifically said to program, 482.5875. I was totally surprised when I heard that

Why is this suprising?

Also, I have heard the airwing use the "SP Direct" (868.9625/141.3) frequency to communicate with units on the ground 868.9625.
