I've been wanting to upgrade my scanner for a while now, but was hesitant to buy a Phase II model without knowing if it was really necessary. After making a few phone calls today, I have been assured that Madison County will not be changing to Phase II in the foreseeable future. The source would not allow me to use their name or affiliation, but they are certainly in a position to know. Just bought a NIB Pro 651, equiv. to PSR-500, based on this info, and looking forward to hearing audio come out of the scanner again. Just wanted to let any other fence sitters know, if moneys tight, you don't need a Phase II scanner.

Ok. Thanks. I have a home patrol so I hope I can hear the main dispatch,

BamaScan... I am new to HSV and have a HomePatrol 1. I would appreciate any tips you can provide in getting my scanner up and receiving the trunked signal

639 Electric Dept.

any idea on the madison county rescue squad. do they use this or vhf or uhf

The rescue squad is dispatched by HEMSI so they use HEMSI's main channel for most of their traffic. They do have a few of their own talk groups.
