Manchester Township

Fire and EMS have been using the county 700 MHz system (EMS Ops 4 and Fire Tac 4) not sure where PD switched to,can anyone in range of the township system see if it’s still operational? The license was set to expired in March and I don’t see anything new pending however I do see in the township budget for this year 8 million for “police radio system”

Our SDR Trunk logs show lots of encrypted calls on PD 1 all day today, as well as a call or two on Recreation...

You mean the Manchester system?

Yes the township system,seems strange they would allow the license to expire without a new system in place. FD is back to being dispatched by county.

Our archives indicate fire was using the system until about 2100 hrs on 7/8. On 7/9 at around 1650 they tested a link with the County and mentioned that the township system was still in Site Trunking. Since then there have been a few people on Fire 1, presumed to be by mistake. But as stated earlier, the police side appears to be still on the system with seemingly routine amounts of traffic.

Hopefully they won't go the way of Toms River. So Fire is still on Ops 4?

Toms River had some type of call around 3:00 today,county had them patched to fire tac 5 for Manchester to communicate with them.

Yes it was a residential fire. Manchester asked to be patched into Toms River as they were called in for mutual aid. So much for seamless interoperability.

As of this morning the system is coming in full bars near the Toms River/Lakewood border.

As of this morning the system still appeared to be in site Trunking mode.
