Around 2130, WVSP trooper 575 called to Romney stating that a blue truck with NC plates attempted to run himself and another trooper over. Troopers fired multiple rounds at driver. Driver headed on the CSX tracks towards Hancock, MD. Troopers lost radio coms with Romney. A little later they stated he was in the river (Potomac). Called for MD State helo, helo was unable to fly due to weather. Troopers from WV and MD are on both sides of the river with K9s as well. Morgan Co. WV and Washington Co. MD are also assisting along with Federal Police agents.
Traffic is on the WVIRP for Morgan Co. and WVSP. Traffic for MD SP is on 39.34MHz (Hagerstown Barracks) and mutual aid interop on 154.2800MHz. WVSP just stated to use "Direct 2" which should be 158.91MHz. MD State Police just said to switch to A3; according to the RR DB it is 39.08MHz. I have been unable to receive anything on the Washing Co. MD TRS (never really have at home).
2250 - Sounds like WVSP located the truck and just ran the tag. If they don't find him tonight, they'll find him down river on the rocks in a few days.
