Talkgroup 1023.

I'm picking it up on the Phoenix (Downtown) simulcast.

I'm not sure if it's clear or encrypted, due to my less than perfect reception of that simulcast here in Peoria. I've gotten some unintelligible audio from it on my SDS-100, and Unidens aren't supposed to pass encrypted audio. Can anyone check and report back?

Thanks.

Not supposed to but I pick up encrypted Talkgroups on my 325P2 frequently. Have to lock them out using search vs scan.

Is everyone hearing all talkgroups on all sites or just west districts on west sites and East districts on East sites? Seems like I’m only getting west. Ever.

It depends on which sites you listen to. If you can't receive any of the sites that cover the East Valley, you will not receive the East districts.

The Phoenix Simulcast, Anthem/New River Simulcast, and Thompson Peak sites, if you can receive them, carry the East districts. Their coverage area includes portions of the West Valley. The better your antenna, the better your reception of them should be. (The Phoenix Simulcast should have both East and West.)

Although the Burnt Mtn site in Tonopah has an active control channel, I'm still not picking up any activity as of this morning. (8-8:30am.)
I wonder if this is an affiliation-only site, and a subscriber radio has to be within range in order for any activity to be heard?

Its possible the new site is a last resort? White Tanks could have preference over it?

I mentioned previously that it may be an affiliation-only site. A subscriber radio may need to be in the area in order for the site to become active. If there are no deputies, or other radio-equipped county department employees in the area, the site may remain silent.
Either that, or the site isn't fully up and running yet.

On the co-located RWC site, I've only heard radio techs once during one of my trips out to the rest area a couple months back. I've been waiting to catch some activity on Phoenix FD's K-1 at least. (Supposedly, there's a VHF-High site for PFD's A-deck there as well, or will be, and it's still not active yet, either. A-1, 154.1900, was also silent.)

I have been running Pro96Com on the MC system for a while and have logged a couple dozen talkgroups not listed in the DB.

I Added these to the Wiki at Maricopa County (P25) Unidentified Talkgroups - The RadioReference Wiki

For the TG's I added today I put today's date in the table to separate them from others found previously. While many can have their assignment extrapolated by the others in that series I don't think that is enough to add them in the database without actually hearing traffic. Please help identify the actual use if you can and submit the data to the DB.

Haven't had any issues with the Maricopa Co P25 system, but I've been getting a bunch of garbled traffic lately from one of the Phoenix PD Charlie Deck channels on RWC on my SDS100. I'm trying to not avoid that group of channels, but might have to if that continues. I don't think there's ever any traffic in the clear on those channels, though, so I don't think there's much chance I'm going to miss something that's unencrypted.

I get a lot of Sheriffs Office Detention transmissions coming over on the Phoenix FD events channels on my SDS-100.

Phoenix PD C-deck is fully encrypted. The Uniden scanners shouldn't be passing any audio at all, as they were designed not to on encrypted channels.

Double check your programming to make sure that the site frequencies are correct. You may need to cross-check the two systems and see if there is any sharing of frequencies between the two systems, although if they do, the sites that do so, should be far enough apart from each other that they shouldn't be receivable at the same time.

Exactly, that’s what’s so weird about it. I’m trying to determine if it’s just one TG or more than one. Still investigating.

I haven't been out to the Burnt Mtn site by the rest area off I-10 in Tonopah in a long while to check on either the Maricopa County or RWC site there.
I think we should keep this open to report on changes/updates to the system, rather than have separate threads.

What are your SDS-100/200 filter settings for the Maricopa County trunked system? I'm trying to optimize my reception, as I seem to get too many dropouts, and I thought that a different filter setting may help.
I'm particularly interested in the White Tanks site, but would be curious if you have different settings for different sites. (Phoenix Simulcast and Thompson Peak in particular.)
