Marine Band repeater

Contact the Communications Officer at Group NYK. Or, better yet, Contact the District Communications Officer at eith CCGDone or CCGDfive, I'm no longer sure what CG district has responsiblity for your area. I'm sure someone in the CGAUX can provide you with the correct number for the District Communications Officer. That's the ONLY place to be sure of getting the correct info. If you can't get that phone info, call CGHQ in Washington and ask for the Communications Office. That ofice also maintains close contact with the FCC.

As suggested contact the Sector Comm Officer. With Rescue 21 many sites have been enhanced for better coverage.

Also you might want to look at installing a CG Aux Repeater on the 150.700 CG Aux freq for the lake.

Does the maritime band allow for repeater use? I have a small lake in upstate NY that has a CG Aux flotilla that would like to be able to talk directly with CG NY Regional in Staten Island.

A CGAUX repeater would not be useable by the general boating public and would only be used by qualified CGAUX members with an issued callsign.

Since the OP indicated this was for a Floatila to communicate with the Sector Office, I would assume this was not for the GP use.

Maybe the OP can Clarify

Widgget,

Don't think a repeater would give the distance to cover from Upstate New York to Sector New York. As member of the CG AUX that works in Communication it always better to ask these type of questions with in the group, since most members on this board don't know our rules and that of the NTIA.

According to the Rescue 21 Map there should be coverage right up the Hudson toward Lake Champlain [which is Sector Northern New England]
which should give you coverage over toward Carmel.

It's possible.

The U.S. Coast Guard has upgraded their system. The new "Rescue 21" system is providing further coverage. There are some cross-patch capabilities utilizing your own VHF frequency, and requesting connection to a cross-patch repeater for the purpose of search & rescue, emergencies, etc.

The radio systems are very complex. The nearest Coast Guard Communications Base is Sector Long Island Sound. Sector Boston has somewhat phased out, and other sectors have taken control of communications.

Sector Boston phased out?

You might want to check your antenna's as Sector Boston is quite Active.
