...I have been looking at the BCD996P2. Does it come with the computer to scanner programmer cable? Also, is it hard to program using Win500?
I am on the other side of the valley and MCSO uses the White Tanks array. Do you have any trouble being in range of transmissions?
The BCD996P2 does come with a data usb cable. I cant speak to Win500... Im in Queen Creek several miles from the Pinal county line. Using a discone antenna indoors with that scanner I receive: Chandler Mesa Simulcast, South East Mesa Simulcast and Thompson Peak. Oddly I can pickup most other systems/sites but MCSO has been a real frustration for me. On the old system I got 5 sites. New system I get 3.
However Topaz, RCW, AZWins etc I can reach White Tanks, Smith Peak and many other simulcast sites. Its just the new MCSO I have trouble with. Its gonna depend on where in the valley you are located and your antenna is a huge factor. Otherwise I love this scanner.
