Earlier today, I heard MECC dispatch a run (for Violet) on Fireground 4 (8016). What's up with that? Are they moving stuff around or something?

Nope. MECC FG 4 used to be the talkgroup Violet used. When ever a run is sent out on MECC Center for VIOLET it is simulcasted on VIOLET. Which is the old name for MECC FG4 which is not supposed to go into use till rebanding happens and the radio templates are updated. This was to alert the Chief of a run after hours. This however was before they had a Battalion Chief and the policy is still in place. Im sure once MECC FG4 goes in service as a normal talkgroup that will be changed. You will also here MECC PREV used a lot for training and sometimes patches to licking or fairfield county also if MECC FG3 is used up.

Hope that helps

It is a normal talkgroup now. Anything in the TWV Grid (which is what they are now, rebanding isn't complete yet) can be put in service for anything.

Correct but the talkgroups have NOT been renamed on the user's radio's they still have the old names in them.
