So I stumbled across a "new" (well new to me anyway) talkgroup in the RR database looking at the Mercer County Interoperable TRS that says "County Dispatch". Is this a simulcast of 154.43? If so how often is it active. I don't hear it tonight although I can regularly hear the system from 2 counties away. I was just curious.

That's a good question. It was always awkward to hear EMS and fire response on the TRS but if you wanted to hear County dispatch for fire and EMS you need to listen to a separate VHF frequency. I'm going to check that out.

I live in Camden County which also uses 154.430 for fire/EMS paging. I can also hear Mercer paging on 154.430 down here. I can't receive Mercer's TRS so I can't verify if they're simulcasting 154.430, but that is common. Paging remains on VHF due to the thousands of existing fire-EMS pagers, station alerts, and siren control units that are out there. All of the counties I know of in the area simulcast that on their TRS.
