Hi from Holland
I'm in Holland. I have an older PRO-23 handheld that I keep at work for background noise, plus a ?? desktop model that's several years old. Both by Radio Shack. I'm getting my mother a new PRO-2096 for Christmas and have been using/testing it at home so I can compare it to my old desktop model at home. I have ordered a PRO-96 for myself for home. I got the handheld model mostly because if the power goes out I can stick batteries in it and still listen to the scanner.
I like to listen to the usual Police, Fire, EMS stuff. I've heard a few big accidents lately, one out in Allendale and one in Holland Township, where Aeromed was called in. Could tell they're bad when the police set up a Command Center at the site.
Anyway, how do most of you sort/categorize your Channel Banks? I want to cover Ottawa County, but also the surrounding Kent, Muskegon and Allegan counties. Muskegon and Kent counties have almost 100 frequencies each. How many frequencies fit on each channel bank on the PRO-96?
Also, is the Starrsoft program dependable? I've read some posts of him not answering emails and people not getting their keys after they paid for it.
