Roll Call

Upper Peninsula Delta/Marquette Co. I listen to L.E. mostly. I have tried to listen to HAM but, rarely ever here anything. I travel the U.P. weekly, and take my 396 with me some times. It doesnt seem like there is a lot of HAM or MIL AIR traffic around here. I wish I could of had a 396 when I was stationed at Ft. Bragg, but my XLT 200 did OK back then! In the summer I keep my boat in the Gladstone harbor. When Im out on Lake Michigan I scan marine band, there again not a lot of activity. If any one lives in my area, and has some good leads on some hot freqs let me know!

Pro-96 Scanner (Win96)
Recently Re-banded scanner and updated firmware to 1.4
Didn't know if there is a special chart of numbers just for Oakland County for re-banding or is the chart of numbers I found on R.R. for all area's. I've had this scanner set aside for a while and got a little rusty on how to program but think I,m back on coarse.

The rebanding tables are the same nationwide at this point. No other tables have been seen to date (Although there is talk of another one possible, but to this point unused).

No rebanding has occured in Michigan to this point that I'm aware of, so there's no need to use the new table. The table will still work for Oakland County though, so you should be ok if you have it in there.

Hello all, I live in the Traverse City area. Interlochen to be more exact. I've been listening to scanners since I got my first one in 1990, a BC200XLT. Still have it and still use it. I also have a BC55XLT and my latest is a Pro97 with Win97 software. Mostly I listen to ATC and some air refueling when in the area. I listen to Police/Fire/EMS also and I am currently trying to learn about Trunking so I can add that to my list of listening. I believe Consumers is the only major one using trunking in this area. Someone correct me if I am wrong. BTW, can someone better explain just what the MPSCS TRS is. It sounds as if it may be a digital system so a new scanner would be needed.

Oakland Co reband

Told that Oakland will not be rebanding due to DeadSky. They hope to have it
up running by then.

I travel twice a week to Detroit, so I listen to:

Whatever I can hear from my basement office in Grand Ledge, which isn't much.
MSP between here and Detroit
Detroit PD and Detroit Fire.

Using a PSR-500 that I got just before Christmas, so still learning the ropes.

Grand Rapids here...

I listen to:

Local/Suburban PDs/FDs/EMS/County Sheriff/MSP... just about all the public safety stuff I can find.

I also listen to the school buses in the morning because those drivers can be a real hoot : )
It's the first place I've ever heard the phrase "choke slam" as in "Someone get this *$#&@ off my bus before I choke slam him."

I'm using 396T/Pro 97 and a brand new PSR 500 for which I have yet to get MSP on, still learning this radio.

There is some great info on this site.
Listen to;
Local police & fire
EMS

And anything else I can find.
Just bought a PRO-164, have a PRO-2055 that I most likely will be selling soon, have an older Pro-99 been looking for a digital trunking unit but the price is a bit out of my range right now.

My first post here on this great site. I just retired from the US Army and moved back. I got a radio shack pro-2051 and a discone ant. for free from a friend that was also retiring. I'm in Hillsdale county and since I'm entirely new to this I listen to the county PD, FD and ambulance traffic. I need some better equip. though since I can't hear the state police. That whole digital/analog thing messes that up for me.

APCO25 is a tough sell to my poor broken down customer base, but have a few out there.

Thanks for letting me on board.
