Another yooper from Ishpeming, home of the National Ski Hall of Fame. Doing some research to get into digital scanning. Our main analog scanning efforts in the winter are listening to the "plow boys". Otherwise known as the county road commission. Trying to decide whether there is enough digital traffic to make the digital transition. It sounds as though the whole state will be digital trunking.

I am also the 911 Coordinator for Mackinac County. Listen to applicable VHF, UHF, MPSCS 800MHz (Law, Fire, EMS, Road Commision, DNR, MDOT, Federal, etc.) in Mackinac County and surrounding counties of Schoolcraft, Luce, Chippewa, Cheboygan, Emmet, Charlevoix, Presque Isle, Otsego . Listen to alot of traffic often. Hope to submit some radio communications TIC plan info shortly...........

Just bought a 996T and the ARC996 software.
Still getting familiar with everything but so far I'm loving it.
Live in Chesterfield Township, monitoring Macomb County sheriff, local P.D's and fire on the MPSCS so far.
Will be monitoring Selfridge and surrounding counties in the near future.

i'm in ann arbor. got a bcd396t that got me back into the hobby earlier this year. an earlier trunktracker got me out of it as i never understood it. i monitored for many years in jackson co. where i'm originally from. i got hooked when i worked as an emt.

just starting to look at the forums and wiki's here, have been using this site for programing the 396 since day one.

interests: anything that doesn't blast data in my ear. more specifically:

cops n robbers
fire and public safety
transportation
snooping in on anybody snooping with a radio
remote broadcasts
amature radio, frs, cb, ham, gmrs
shortwave dxing (grundig sattilite 800)
am dxing

aircraft
marine

you get it, pretty much anything thats not a 13 year old on a cell phone.
