I think that was one of the scenarios when it happened. What exactly do the Demod modes do?
P25 has two possible modulation modes. FM and LSM. FM is a constant magnitude demodulation where the receiver is only looking as phase changes. With LSM (linear simulcast modulation), the receiver is using mag / phase measurements to give a better decode for systems that use this type of modulation. Also known as Pi/4 D-QPSK modulation. I plan on adding a different display mode that will help to easily identify which modulation is in use.

Todd, was able to import from RR alright, now in monitor mode 5 selected, when I want to disable a talk group I press top left to follow TG then enter CONFIG mode to Edit to DISABLE TG then back to monitor and finally left button to unfollow. Doesn't seem to work when I go back to monitor mode and the same TGs reappear. Some of these are encrypted but others are normal TGs.
DISABLE TG – The disable talk group option will permanently disable the
currently active talk group. The configuration menu button must be
pressed while the talk group is active. The only way to re-enable the talk
group is by editing a backup file and performing a restore or by re-
importing the talk groups with the talk group enabled. To temporarily
disable a talk group, see the SKIP TG button when in monitor mode.

With the current firmware, I don't think what you attempting with the TG Hold will work. It is a good idea and should probably be added. To disable a TG, you need to be in CONFIG mode and press the top-middle (config menu) button while the TG is active. Once you are in the config menu, it is ok if the TG becomes inactive, you will still be able to edit / disable the TG.

-edit, also note that you can make a backup file (microp25rx_backup.ini) to the SD card, and edit the [TALKGROUPS] section in that file with a text editor. You can manually change the enabled/disabled, names, priority, TG Zone, etc. When you are done editing, then run a restore function with the edited backup file on the SD card.

Thanks that works. Another- in TG ZONE MODE how are TGs actually assigned to each zone.

4.3 TG ZONE MODE BUTTON-MAPPING
In TG Zone mode, the button mappings are:
Button-A = Enable / Disable Zone
Button-B = Rename Zone
Button-C = Return To Monitor Mode

I made changes to the Wio Terminal firmware so that the TG HOLD function will allow you to disable the talk group being held. It should work as you were trying to do earlier. The firmware is release 111901. Briefly tested.

If you have a P25RX / P25RX-II, you can import an exported talk group csv backup. (this includes the zone settings). Note that if there are multiple systems in the P25RX talk group backup file, then the file must be sorted such that talk groups associated with a system are in sequential order. The is because the import code uses the first talk group for a system to remove all talk groups for the given system, then starts to append records during the import. Currently, the only other way you can change the TG Zones is to manually edit a microp25rx_backup.ini file and restore it.

Example TALKGROUPS section in the backup file: The last column is the TG Zone.

[TALKGROUPS ENABLED,PRIORITY,TGRP,ALPHATAG,DESCRIPTION,ZONE]
1,1,317,RICHLAND,BENTON COUNTY,1
1,9,301,PASCO,FRANKLIN COUNTY,1
1,1,703,COUNTY_703_T,BENTON COUNTY,1
1,5,303,KENNEWICK,BENTON COUNTY,1
1,1,319,PROSSER,BENTON COUNTY,1
[END]

That probably means a neighbor got it? Shared mail box area?

No, it means they are lazy and just scanned it delivered and didn’t deliver it. Happens ALL the time. USPS absolutely sucks in this area. But what can you do? Every time I complain I get referred to the same exact lady at my post office and she doesn’t give a crap. I went over her head once and she called and *****ed me out for doing that. Seriously.

Thanks for the update, I will try that with the P25RX file or the backup.ini.

Wio 111901 added feature "disable TG when being held" worked here. The backup file confirms the TG is set to zero (disabled).

Mine was scan out for delivery and now it's 100 miles back at the process center. It's going to make 300 mile trip before it makes it to me "I hope"

Thanks, without looking at backup file can't tell but if they don't show up again it works. Wonder if you could make a short cut that goes right to the CONFIG edit screen like a double press of middle button after pressing follow left button.

Mine was marked as delivered but nothing in the mailbox. But I’m used to it. It will probably magically show up, but no guarantees.

Again, no fault of @btt but it’s still frustrating.

Sorry to hear it guys. They have done a good job delivering to customers over the past 2.5 years. Maybe they are having some kind of issues these days. I will work on adding more carriers to the web site.

Don’t think I’m dumping on you, I’ve had USPS issues for years. Usually it’s something from eBay or Amazon and they can afford to just ship me another of whatever it is since the USPS has NEVER found a single one of my “lost” packages.
