There is a new Wio firmware available. 1215-01. When on the Signals / Gain adjustment display, the AUTO gain setting for the VGA works differently starting with this version. The ideal fixed gain value for the VGA will be displayed next to AUTO (as in the previous versions). When saving the gains with the-top middle button, the VGA will be set to a fixed gain with this ideal value (for the currently received signal). In most situations, I would recommend trying the following procedure for each control channel. Set the LNA=12, Mixer=10, VGA to AUTO. Save the gains with the top-middle button. The VGA value will switch from AUTO to the new fixed gain value. Doing this for each SITE should result in a consistent signal level to the ADC during scanning. This is working excellent here. Please post results if you try it out.

The ADC CLIP msg is gone and I do like being able to adjust the color scheme. Thanks for your help with that Todd.

Firmware version 1215-03 is available for the MicroP25RX and Wio display. Display colors are now user-definable in the backup ini file in the [GLOBAL_CONFIG] section. After updating to the latest firmware, make a BACKUP. In the [GLOBAL_CONFIG], you will see these new lines:

LINE1_COLOR=07E0 #colors for lines 1-8
LINE2_COLOR=FFE0
LINE3_COLOR=FFE0
LINE4_COLOR=07FF
LINE5_COLOR=C618 #line 5 colors is used for the TG History lines
LINE6_COLOR=C618
LINE7_COLOR=C618
LINE8_COLOR=FFE0
COLOR9=0000 #foreground for 'H', 'S', 'M' indicator
COLOR10=07E0 #background for 'H'...
COLOR11=FFFF #11-14 not currently used
COLOR12=FFFF
COLOR13=FFFF
COLOR14=FFFF
COLOR_MENU_FG=FFFF #menu colors not implemented yet
COLOR_MENU_BG=000F
COLOR_DEFAULT_BG=0000 #default bg and fg. If these are set equal, then default colors will be restored
COLOR_DEFAULT_FG=FFFF
COLOR_LED1_ON=07E0
COLOR_LED1_OFF=7BEF
COLOR_LED2_ON=FFE0
COLOR_LED2_OFF=7BEF
COLOR_P1P2_INDICATOR=07E0
COLOR_CONST=FFE0 #constellation color

The colors are specified in hexadecimal with an RGB565 format (5-bits red, 6-bits green, 5-bits blue)
Try this color generator that shows the values in RGB565 hex.

Here is an example of a darker themed display:

edit: For use in mobile situations, set the LNA and/or Mixer values to AUTO.
I set as described above. Works as described. I will have more time to monitor tomorrow evening. I typically don't scan multiple systems but I don't want to get behind on the features. One of my systems is fairly weak signal so it should be a good test.
I also plan on playing with the color choices. Very nice updates.

@btt Awesome update!!!! Love the color suggestions above. I did notice one lock up while scanning over the past hour, I will keep an eye on if I can reproduce or if it was just an anomaly.

Something I forgot to mention about the FTO (fire tone outs). It will decode fine when scanning, but you need to catch at least 250ms of the first tone for it to display/decode the first tone-out right. I'm thinking about adding the ability for 8 or 16 tone-pairs to the backup ini file. Is that enough?. When a tone pair is detected, it would enable the current talk group hold time to be a user-defined value. In other words, if any of the configured tone-pairs match an incoming tone-out, then the receiver will hold on the current talk group for a user-defined FTO timeout in milliseconds. Let me know what you guys think. Of course, we could also use a tone-out to drive GPIO on the Wio to drive a relay, etc.

Both.. Hold on talkgroup for Xseconds AND drive the GPIO on the Wio... This is a winner !!

Is anyone else having lock-ups after this last update? I’ll notice no sound and it’s either sitting on a CC or a TG and neither the joystick or buttons are responsive. A power cycle resolves it.

Custom tones that can be sent to trigger a relay/motor, etc?
The Wio could be set up to control a relay to switch on/off another device. Example:if your FD is 'toned out', the Wio could turn on a light or a siren or even send a text message (using the WiFi). Many ways to use the GPIO. The Wio is a microcontroller.

24+ hours with no lock-ups on a fairly busy system.
