Yes... I thought they had changed it, but it is just proposed to only have it mandatory-on, except for real national emergencies.

Thanks
Joel
Maybe around Washington DC but we routinely have helicopter traffic coming into the local airport without ADS-B - some with Mode C only.

Today the SAR helicopter from Pax River arrived at KWWD. Since I was monitoring the unicom - I knew they were inbound but never saw them on any web site tracking nor did they show up on my tracking screen here. Without knowing the transponder code (will presume 1200) I would not even see them on my Mode A/C list.

I saw a post about B-2s moving. That post listed some tankers and I found some additional ones. The HIFIs have already left PHNL.

Related at some point and could be interesting:

Years ago the 509th BW released their mission video on YouTube where one B-2 Spirit carried and dropped a live mixed loadout of 1x GBU-57 MOP and multiple dozens of GBU-38 JDAM's, one bomb bay had the MOP inside, the other had the GBU-38 bombs, was interesting to see, maybe a similar combo combatant commanders will use to hit nuclear facilities in the near future...

There are 4 BUFF's from the 2nd Bomb Wing/Barksdale AFB and approx 6 Strike Eagles from the 336th EFS aka "The Rocketeers" from the 4th FW/Seymour Johnson AFB at Diego Garcia right now. The B-2's might do a BTF warmup at Andersen AFB, before the units swap out at Diego Garcia.
