interesting article on CNN website (behind subscvriber access unfortunately.

Rules are if you post a paywall article you need to pay for subscriptions to the group. :)

That said, they really aren't that difficult to track, I saw two this morning one to Laos the other to Cuba (which might have been a supply flight). I haven't been tracking the civilian flights lately except for one blocked flight that Flightaware still sends me alerts for.

Yeah I realized that making a PDF from the article was cheaper than all the subscriptions.....so I attached it to the original post.

Not hard to track at all if you want to devote the time to it......like trying to catch military aircraft radio comms --- almost impossible to do that -- oh wait - never mind.

Just a fun tidbit - I spoke yesterday to my contact at USMC in Cherry Point about the items the local museum wants to purchase for sale in the gift shop..(they acquired an AV8B from his squadron). Since he was one of the crew members at the airshow in Oshkosh selling squadron items, I told him we were monitoring the STONE flight on the way home. He said he was piloting the two seater that they took there and laughed when I told about monitoring the comms. He confirmed STONE as the callsign. I told him we enjoy listening to the air / air comms since the discussions about beach observations and million dollar houses plus other things makes the hobby fun.

ULA Vulcan rocket launch from the Cape tonight in 5 minutes or so..
Couple payloads for the Space Force so will go slightly southeast for geo synchronous orbit...
so prob nothing to see up this way.
That Vulcan launch was impressive with 4 boosters then bright blue flames from main 2 engines
as runs on Liquid Methane fuel rather than Space X type Kerosene fuel.
Vulcan is Space Force replacement for the old Delta IV and Atlas V rockets Def Dept launches.
I missed this article the other day about the Vulcan rocket for Space Force.
Some interesting info and already have backlog of future launches..
New Rocket, New PNT Satellite: Space Force Ready for Launch

Just heard RAGE F-16's out of A/C on way home nearby roaring by on way home from Pa range
with their base 261.000 and A/A 298.600 At first I thought that sure is a loud airliner :)
Guess they were staying low below cloud deck maybe even flying VFR.

Those AV-8B's are going around to many Museums.. Dover AMC Museum supposed to get one as well someday.
Interesting that the thin air of Colorado was too light to land vertically so straight in runway landing.

A friend of mine was at Barnes yesterday and witnessed this incredible incident!

Note: my friend said the report is wrong. That jet just came back from the CHUGS MOA. The C models he was with did an initial then landed. The D model (this aircraft involved in the incident) did two low approaches before landing!

Ok see article says aircraft was just departing and not landing..
Noticed a lot of notams lately in CHUGS MOA.. Was wondering about that.
Reminds me years ago at an airshow the fighter jet on static display the ejection seat pin was not disabled
and youngster in seat pulled the ejection lever :(

I'm confused ..thought C model was single seat F-15? How can your friend be with C model?

Sorry for the confusion Mark. My friend is a photographer who was there for the day with another to capture some of the last flying days of the F-15s. The flight was two C models and one D model that went up to Chugs for about an hour then came back. The two C models landed first then the D model came back and did two low approaches before landing. The D (#134) was taxiing back when the guy in the back ejected. What's interesting is that the canopy landed on top of the jet!

This wasn't his photo but it shows the canopy pretty well.

Thanks Ed. I was confused a bit.. Seems 2nd rider seat was ok :)
Wonder if he just wanted to pull himself out of seat and grabbed handles? Or are handles down low? oops!
I'm sure a thorough Def Dept investigation on this.. Not a good way to go out with the Barnes 104th F-15s :(
I hope this doesn't stop incentive rides.. Was just reading couple articles around the US where various Unit ground members
getting incentive rides.

That youngster incident happened at a Willow Grove, PA air show. July 1980, the child died on the tarmac.

1115- Wild11 (DC ANG F-16s) off ADW (257.2)>ZDC Linden (322.55). A2A is 238.175

1122- BAF 643 (Belgian AF A-400) w/Potomac (125.65) inbound to ADW.
Caught the Belgian/Luxembourg AF A400M yesterday landing on 19R at KADW. It was operating under the "BAF" callsign but the livery was "Luxembourg Armed Forces" with the Lux roundel on the side. After a bit of wikipedia research I found out the Belgians and the Luxembourg AF have a "bi-national" transport wing based near Brussels. It consists of 7 of these with one painted for Luxembourg. This was the first time for me seeing a A400M and I will admit I was impressed. Big sucker. Loud too.

Personal note: for two years ('92-'94) I was assigned to the NATO AWACS wing in Geilenkirchen, Germany. All the NATO E-3 aircraft are registered in Luxembourg and wear that Duchy of Luxembourg roundel, so I also flew under that roundel too!
