Plane Tags has a new jet :)
Watched video of landing and he was rocking the wings in the wind but he seemed to overshoot the landing spot near
the beach front and that short of a runway he finally planted it.. Could be structural failure but doubting it.
Imagine with all that structural damage Insurance will say forget it just like they do with some lightly wrecked cars.
BTW here is link to Plane Tags. LOL

Went to Albemarle-Charlottesville Airport (KCHO) today expecting to see nothing but regional jets and Cessna 172s from the flight school there but was treated to a surprise pair of E-2D Hawkeyes from VAW-120, the Greyhawks, the fleet replacement squadron, based at NAS Norfolk, doing pattern work for an hour. Gorgeous day there in the Blue Ridge too! Here are a some pics...

Duct tape and all will be fine

I am sure a Boeing Field Repair Team will be dispatched to evaluate and most likely repair the jet.

Wait till WestJet gets the bill for just getting the aircraft off the runway.. seems a couple crane reset problems.
Insurance adjustors will get first crack at this damaged tail good news or bad..
St Maarten not exactly a good spot for heavy repairs though if they decide to repair a 6 month
expense account there for repair crew of say 10 and imported gear will be costly. Westjet will have to make that call :)

That is what they have insurance for at airlines. It really depends on whether the Boeing Field Repair Team determines if it is repairable. If so they will send in the correct parts - even erect a temporary hangar (think big tent) and do the repairs and fly it out. There is a large expense to scrap an aircraft on site (especially there), just consider all the hazmat materials that have to be removed,
