Here are a few photos from today's A-10 deactivation ceremony for 104 Fighter Squadron/175 Air Wing at Martin State in Maryland. Thanks to our member extremey who gave me intel about where to go and what to do at MTN - though due to some conflicting time info I was waiting around for nearly five hours for the A-10s to take off. Was it worth it? Of course! After takeoff the two A-10s circled back and made a high speed low pass with wing wags to say farewell to their home all these years.

Yes, Mark - it was a 3pm departure that slipped a bit to about 4:30. Also, I was under the impression that all the A-10s were to depart today, but one remains behind in a hangar. Not sure why - maintenance issues? That aircraft will be the real final flight out, though I would not expect much attention to be directed at that. Let us know if you hear anything passing by out your way near future!

Possibly not in flying condition so may have to truck it out of there?

RSD-308 Russian IL-96 looks inbound JFK..
May not like comments of Potus to NATO at UN to shoot down Russian jets next time.
I say just light them up with targeting radars and make them pop some flares and hit the road first :)

There is a FIAT-71 KC-46 departing McGuire maybe for AR-20NE? That is an ACC tanker callsign.

2035 - Sounds like ZOLA 12. I think probably B-2's Air/Air on 341.750 just switched to encrypted comms. Working ZBW on 282.200
routing overhead BTV then turning right possibly to AR-631.

2043 - Now on ZBW 348.700

2101 - Confirmed heading to AR-20NE now @Mark

Is there anyone left that hasn't already been in the rotation?
I think Texas and Wisconsin,Minnesota,South Dakota off the top of my head?
Course now Wisconsin moving over to F-35's so doubt will see them..
Indiana ANG is getting their F-16's back and up to snuff so long shot them.

Great pics! Those are in fact the last two A-10s that will ever fly out of MTN. They were headed south this evening and then tomorrow will be working a bit down there and then up the coast to the North East. Their final destination is Selfridge on Thursday. The last jet in the hanger, 702, will be a static display in the future.
