Approx 1430 an interesting visitor over New Castle, an EC-130J Commando Solo, returning to Harrisburg from a couple of hours flying around the Atlantic City area. Lots of bulges and appendages on the body and tail of this aircraft. As Lockheed Martin describes, "The EC-130J Commando Solo is designed to conduct information operations, psychological operations and civil affairs broadcasts in AM, FM, HF, TV and military communications bands. The U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command's 193rd Special Operations Wing, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania., operates the EC-130J and conducts Special Operations Forces missions and psychological operations leaflet drops." You can get a good profile look at this unique aircraft here: EC-130J Commando Solo

Nice! But their days are limited as Harrisburg supposed to be getting regular MC-130J types to replace the EC-130J radio tails.
Last article I saw late last year said over the next two years replacing them. I heard a BATON-54 calling Base ops 395.100 just a while ago.
I bet that was the one in your picture.

Thanks for that info. Glad I got to see it while realizing just what it was. Lots of 130 traffic around here but sometimes it pays dividends to check!

DECOY-99 C-17 about to start engines at KMRB for night T&G using NVG. Runways darkened for the occasion. With KMRB tower and Command Post.
Very cool watching the Air Force’s heavy metal work the pattern, land and taxi in total darkness. Now they are practicing backing up on the taxiway, another trick that C-17s can perform. It’s a one-plane air show.
