Very cool watching the Air Force’s heavy metal work the pattern, land and taxi in total darkness. Now they are practicing backing up on the taxiway, another trick that C-17s can perform. It’s a one-plane air show.

I agree it's a good show when they do that, I haven't been able to observe them in a while, too many family events lately.

Rumore has it tomorrow SP F-16's will head our way on deployment to Japan.
That was those RUMMY KC-10 tankers we logged the other day going to UK.
Sure is a extra long way Westbound but guess China and Russia would not approve a shortcut to Japan from Germany :) LOL

Can't wait for cloudy skies to inevitably ruin the occasion

Jokes aside (somewhat) I hope someone manages to see them

Maybe someone will get lucky..
Nellis AFB has scheduled Red Flag 23-1 starting Jan 23 coincidently.
The RAF is participating as a couple of their heavies have already dropped some gear at Nellis.
They usually like to get there a few days early so expect them next week.Unknown what fighters they are sending.
In the recent past during Winter Red Flags the RAF does Southern route via Bermuda then Florida.. We shall see.

I hate to say this, but it seems like they are having a hard time managing.... for me the first indication was having aggressors vs F-22's intercept Russian bombers off of Alaska, then the early retirement of some of the more specialized aircraft, now this... I think Gen Deptula is right, it's only going to get worse.

Thanks
Joel

Interesting that this news is not on the FAA's delay page.
