Colombian president has decided that turning back those two C-17s may not have been the wisest move he’s ever made. He’s now offering his own aircraft to fly them home.
Off topic, but need for clarification, sorry, promise last post...
So he won, he never said he wouldn't take them back, he said he didn't want the delivered in the back of a C17 like cargo, but would gladly allow a civilian aircraft to do it. Since the US didn't want to do that Columbia said they'd use the presidential airplane, but US military planes would not be welcome.

OT: Funny as have seen the Eastern BBQ Jets working thru into Mexico and Central America on Repat mssions.
Use them instead.. Mexico like Cuba and others down there never let routiine C-17 Mil flights thru or in their Airspaces.
Sort of a long time Latin America pride type deal against the Yanks.. So be it...

BANKR-89 KC-46 inbound McGuire from Travis A-1 with crew of 3.. I think they were the Alert tanker out that way for CAP.

Speaking of Latin America HP-1A E35L Panama Embraer working way down East Coast from Davos Switzerland.
Fuel stop at Halifax.. Prob avoiding US stops :)

OT: Kind of surprising overseas late Nite 2:am local flight out of Tel Aviv.
Russian State Tupolev TU-234 (RA-64516) pax plane departing Israel for home.
Avoids Greek airspace and Brit and US bases in Cyprus right back into Turkey.
Hamas had a Russian hostage from last October and promised release very soon from Russian Ambassador in Israel so maybe for him.

Eastern only has so many aircraft and their aircraft reliability is not like a regular airline (maintenance wise) so - not always available.

Correct ..... Air Air was 298.600 and Air Grd coordination on 294.725
OT: Watching replay of Eagles game and the flyover by NJ F-16's that right side #4 jet got a bit squirrelly getting in final 4 ship
transition. Great job by all though with the live Bald Eagle circling and a National Anthem that the singer wasn't excessively showing off their voice pipes. .. :)

They currently have 30 aircraft with FAA tails/licenses
Well 11 + 1 = 12 if you count the freighter aircraft and the planned aircraft

I think you ran the FAA database search for Eastern 737 .... yes that will show all of their "owned" aircraft.
Owning them and operating them is a whole other process. It takes money and time to move all of those aircraft into flyable condition.
If you remember my comment about Swift Air - they had the government contracts (read-easy money) but they still went out of business.

Yeah they were a bit upset with their flyby according to their air / air comms. They knew they were a bit out of sync but one of the pilots said it would look different from the ground so maybe not too bad.

Interestingly enough, just got off a video call with my former employer who I work for now as a sub contractor and I told them we were keeping an eye on the movement of Eastern's fleet (since basically it is part of my hobby), they asked me to give them a list of the active fleet and where they are flying --- so I guess I can do it like the old days.....combine my hobby and my job.

Looks like only 7 active right now, with 23 sitting in reserve.

Yeah the real trick is getting those parked aircraft airworthy, having the crews to fly the aircraft and having the money to pay for all of that.
Based on what I can see looking at my company's data $$$ - it might take them some time to get things going.
