MilCom traffic on 234.9

Heard Stinger 1-1 talking about some tankers and A-10s on Black Talon 234.900. Will monitor the channel some more and see what I get. I'm reasonably sure it's a training exercise.

Black Talon is the callsign for Range control at Grayling Training Center. 234.900 is a fairly busy frequency with aircraft entering into the training area for bomb drops and gun runs at Range 40. It’s always a good listen!

Along the same lines of this post, I hear 248.650 is being used. its used by Ohio ANG out of Toledo as an Air Tac channel.

Just a little correction. 234.900 Black Talon C.R.T.C. (Combat Readiness Training Center) is located at the Alpena airport. They give aircraft airspace briefs on the MOA's & Ranges. They have a big building on the north side of the base.



Grayling Range R-4201 air to ground gunnery & bombing range. is controlled by STEELGATE Control on 266.600 Primary & 261.200 Secondary.
