I programmed a system consisting of 1 conventional P25 channel and 5 analog channels. They are in system 1, I did a factory reset before programming it and I made no changes to anything else. When scanning, the radio was receiving all the analog channels in scanning mode but it would not stop on the single P25 police channel. After 45 minutes of no police activity heard, I manually put the scanner on the police channel. Once I heard activity, I started the scan and it did not stop on the P25 channel. I stopped the scanning and manually put it on the P25 channel and the conversation was still going on.

What setting am I missing that needs to be changed for this to work? I have a BCD996P2 that does not have this issue.

What are the channel settings for the P25 channel?

No but I have done firmware updates in the past and it was up to date. If I do a factory restore, the firmware reverts back?

I can't give settings now. I am at work and the scanner is home. I can post specifics tonight. What settings am I looking for?

Probably the easiest would be to post a screenshot of the channel settings in Sentinel, showing modulation, etc.

I'll have to look for that. I am terrible with Sentinel. I use the ARC software. I use Sentinel for firmware updating but ARC for programming.

There is no way the firmware can revert back to an older version by reseting the scanner...
What ever version of firmware you have is still there...

OK. I didn't think it would revert. So my scanner has the newest firmware. It has to be a P25 setting which I really do not understand that well.

I updated it about three months ago and I recall reading there have not been any updates in over a year?

I just checked the firmware and it is 1.26. Sentinel reports it as current.

I have two radios I am testing with. 996P2 and 436HP. Both were programmed from the RR database.

I have a multicoupler connected to an outdoor antenna and both scanners are connected.

I lock the 996P2 on the digital channel and I put the 436 in scan. When activity comes on, the 996P2 receives it but the 436 does not.

When I lock the 436 on the digital channel and put the 996P2 in scan, they both receive it.

I'm at a loss.

Does the channel on the 436 have an avoid on it? If it does, I will skip over the channel while scanning and you will hear it while holding.

If you can hear the channel when holding manually, that means that the scanner is fine, it has to be a setting issue of some kind.

Wait you have a directional coupler with isolation? ...or just a splitter...if it's just a splitter your receiving an image of the signal instead of cancellation of the signal from one port to the other.

No avoid.

Not a splitter. I have a multicoupler that is powered with one antenna and 4 outputs. I have tried other outputs. No different.

NAC 114.

Two of us messed with this for hours. We reset the scanner and programmed from scratch. Still does not work right. When at home, the system transmit antenna is about 800 feet from my house and it still does not work. I'm about to launch this scanner for a 325P2. I nave the DMR and NXDN enhancements in it but I do not listen to any of those systems anyway.

Are you scanning from the database, or a favorite list? Have you tried both?
