Monitor Air on PL 660 with discone?

Of course I can hear air on my scanners, but if I wanted to spend some money for fun, would getting a 3.5 to male BNC from my Tecsun PL 660 to my discone help pick up air better?

Generally a discone, preferable mounted outside will out perform a telescoping antenna inside.


They list that jack (18) as FM / SW Antenna Jack . But they also list the telescoping antenna (5) as FM / SW Antenna.

For under 10 bucks you can get either mono or stereo 3.5 to bnc. Don't own the radio so cant say for sure, but would think you would want the mono. A schematic would id the jack as to being mono or stereo.

If it were me, which its not, for 10 bucks with free returns, I would give it a go. Just remember to unplug during lightning storms.
