I am having a hard time staying locked on to the control channel. But i have no issues listening to calls when i am locked on. i have 5 RTL-SDR dongles and my area only has 3 talk frequencies not including 2 control frequencies. my question is how do i setup SDRTRUNK to monitor these frequencies. when i use NBFM i get nothing but when i use p25p1 i get nothing. any ideas?

There is likely a better forum for this question. You need help setting up your SDR, but not anything specifically related to Indiana.

From looking at Wayne County, you shouldn't need more that 2 sdr's to monitor the traffic there as all the frequencies are within the 2.4mhz range of the sdr's. I suggest you watch the video below, even though it demonstrates setting up a system in Texas, it works for any location. After watching it, then replay it and follow the instructions precisely, stopping and starting the video as needed. Each sdr having a separate serial number is vital for it to work.

Feel free to send me a PM if you need help.

i guess i didn't mention that i also am monitoring 5 analog EMS frequencies as well. so thats why i have so many SDR's. i have been streaming this SAFE-T system for several years now. ive just been thinking that if i monitor each frequency manually it would be better then using the control. i have no issues getting more dongles.

OK I see what you are trying to do, so I tried it on my system. SDRTrunk does not decode a channel if not directed there by a Control Channel. So what you are wanting to do is not possible from what I can see.

How far are you from the closest tower, and what kind of antenna are you using?

i was getting frustrated by my low signal strength so in the last hour i was looking over my connectors and i found that the LMR400 line from the antenna was putting some strain on the pl-259 to type F adapter that goes to the signal spliter. It was pulled apart and the two center contacts were not making any contact. after some fiddling i was able to get it back together and now im at -10db. i was previously at -60db.
i am less then 2 miles from the main tower.

I am in RI which has a 4 zone simulcast system.
Go into playlist editor select RR tab system view. the 4 zones are listed, highlight your choice and a list of freqs (LCN) will display in my case 9 including CC. use the create channel config to the right for each channel. I added each Ch separately save after each entry. click PLAY to activate each freq and you should be good to go.
