MONOC-1 is dispatched over the main dispatch frequencies:

MED-9 462.950 PL 210.7
MED-10 462.975 PL 210.7
MED-11 461.800 PL 210.7 (Simulcast of MED-9 from Bayshore Hospital)

Nextels are useless in the helicopter above 800 ft, but there is a satellite phone for backup comms.

Perhaps it was a mix-up with Atlantic Health Systems' ship, Air-1??
