Does anybody know what frequency Monroe Volunteer Ambulance dispatches on? The lowband frequency listed in the database is quiet and the FCC license is long expired. Per a ULS search on the FCC website that frequency isn’t even used anymore. They are definitely not dispatched on the FD frequencies. Any ideas?

4101 is the Windham Regional Transit Bus group 20424 would be a Norwich group, perhaps related to the upcoming FD move. They have been testing for a couple months

Med 2 used to be on the Hi Ho tower in Trumbull and had almost statewide mobile coverage.
But the tower owners wanted to charge C-Med a ton of money to keep it there as they are a corporation, not public safety
So it was moved to the tower at Monroe PD, Im not sure if it is at any of the other Monroe sites doing simulcast like the FD & PD
But it gets out ok for Monroe

Most large tower owners, including Pinnacle (who owns that tower now), charge Public Safety as well, and a few of them at the same rate too. That tower is incredibly valuable real estate. (Think you could ever dream of putting up a 500 foot tower in that neighborhood these days?). No more free-bees there.

Some towns have found ways around that with ordinances that towers must reserve space for public safety. I'm paraphrasing, but that's the basic idea of it.

The FD system is simulcast and the power reflects that, as it's made to work great in town.
Med 2 is a single site and not worrying about covering only town so it's set up "differently"
But I would have to agree the Trumbull tower was great, I talked to C-Med from the cape on portable a few times and when I worked at SW C-med many moons ago, we also used it a few times to talk to Life Star on block island (on the ground) with burns from a boat fire coming to Bridgeport Hospital
