does not appear to be p-25 my 996 will not decode it, the audio sounds to fast the freqs are
154.8075 dig
154.860 dig
155.760 dig
158.805 may be analog
Wonder why they would use a non-APCO format? I still think they are using AMBE, sounds just like the new D-STAR Amateur format - which I can't monitor either!
Here's a sample of NEXEDGE digital, from the web site at www.kb9ukd.com/digital. Its an .mp3 format, but I had to rename it to .txt to attach it. Download it and then rename it to .mp3.
Does this sound like the system Moody Fire is using?
It wouldn't suprise me if more PS agencies went MOTOBRO or NEXEDGE. Its an easy way to go digital without the cost of P-25. Also, the audio seems to be better in a noisy environment then with P-25.
Now, scanner makers just need to include these protocols in their scanners.......
Doubt that will happen anytime soon. From what I understand, most of the cost of a PRO-96 or other digital scanner comes from a license to use proprietary software developed by Digital Voice Systems.
