For everyone in the southern part of the state...the broken record keeps playing:

Info on the next storm for tomorrow night and Wednesday at the NWS Sullivan webpage. Looks like up to a foot in the far SE corner, which has been steadily rising all day in their statements.

Keep it south

You guys can keep all of the snow down by you. We have had enough here in Central Wisconsin.

Well, this is turning out to be underwhelming so far...only an inch or two and some blowing. If this materializes the way the NWS hopes, it will be real messy in the morning.

The State EOC in Madison is partially activated and is currently staffed.

41 North from countyline/CTH Q(Waukesha-Washington county line) to the 45 41 split was ok. 45 was it's usual condition when it snows, snow cover and slippery. Didn't see or hear of any cars in the ditch on my way home , around 130am, and the few people who were driving where taking they time.

Apparently Rock and Dane counties got hammered, and there are hundreds of stranded motorists on I-90 in those counties. Gov. Doyle declared a state of emergency for them and activated the National Guard to assist in rescue efforts....more here

I copied Dane county EOC doing comm checks on MARC 1 earlier, so I'm assuming that some ops are on there.

We heard that I-43 was closed for approximately 5 hours someplace south of Sheboygan (???) for cleanup of a 5 semi wreck... Anyone know what the exact location was on that one? Thanks.

A little north of Cedar Grove. I don't think it was a big crash but once the tractors stopped moving they got stuck. WSP & Sheboygan & Ozaukee Sheriffs were divering traffic off at Hwy 57, 32 & LL.
The back up was making a big mess for Ozaukee Sheriff and Port Washington PD at the 32/LL area north of Port.

We had 43NB closed at STH 32 in Sheboygan at the request of the NER XO, and farther south we tried to route traffic off at LL but that was a mess and a few vehicles got stuck there too.

As I understood it, the "crash" involved a few semi's playing bumper tag but mostly they just couldn't make the hill. I don't think it was closed that long either. They were still getting vehicles around the semi's on the shoulder for most of the time.

They were planning on turning on either the Dane or Rock MARC 1 repeater, but there was another repeater turned on causing interference. They were trying to figure out where it was coming from, though I'm not sure if they ever did.
