Nice work, thanks.

Here is the output list of the new repeaters. Some are on now and all will be soon. I will not post the inputs. So dont ask. My Source asked for the inputs not to be posted.

I made the updates to the system last night. Only thing that doesn't match from the listing posted above is Dothan Dispatch. The listing is showing a tone of 107.2PL but users are reporting 025 DPL. I have added the Lat and Long so the radius will be correct for the counties within the Troop Zones.

I noticed that as well. I've heard definately both Dothan State using a DPL of 025 and Selma State using a PL of 141.3.

BamaScan, could you ask your source if this is the final frequency and tone list?

Hearing Huntsville State dispatch report interference to Mobile units trying to talk to them.
Mobile units are being covered up by Dothan State.
I assume the new repeater output on 155.445 is the problem since Huntsville State is using that freq. at their Car freq.
Believe I also heard Decatur State having the same issues.
Looks like it will be getting worse as more repeaters come online.

This is the Current frequency set-up for the Jacksonville State Trooper Post.
Trooper Post is transmitting on all three Base frequencies at the same time. Mobile unit Id's are F ### & G ###.
Additional Mobile unit Id's called by Trooper Post are DL, DPS, HP & MC ###.
CW Id’s heard on 154.92000, 155.50500 & 158.79000.
Voice Call Sign used to be given out over the radio by DPS Dispatcher but now only hearing CW Id's.
Not sure if the CW Id's are from a repeater or base transmitter.

Jacksonville State Trooper Post.
154.92000 - Base-to-Car: CSQ
155.44500 - Car-to-Base: 141.3 PL

155.50500 - Base-to-Car: 131.8 PL
159.21000 - Car-to-Base: 131.8 PL

158.79000 - Base-to-Car: CSQ
159.03000 - Car-to-Base: 151.4 PL
158.79000 - Car-to-Car: CSQ

All current traffic appears to be Base-to-Car, Car-to-Base or Car-to Car.
154.920 / 155.505 / 158.790 Base freq.'s are all active & patched or tied together.
155.445 RM listing for Jacksonville appears to be incorrect since that freq. is currently the input for 154.920.

**

This appears to be the Current frequency set-up for the Huntsville / Decatur State Trooper Post.
Trooper Post is transmitting on two Base frequencies at the same time as far as I can tell. Mobile unit Id's are F ###.

Huntsville / Decatur State Trooper Post.
Base-to-car 154.92000 - CSQ
Car-to-base 155.44500 - ?

Base-to-car 158.79000 - 107.2 PL
Car-to-base 159.03000 - ?

I heard some activity at one point on this freq. pair but have not heard any activity lately.
Alabama Department of Public Safety, License / Call Signs: WNQC513 / WPAH205
854.6875 Mobile / Vehicular Repeater
809.6875 Mobile
Not sure if any of the Trooper cars has this capability or not.

854.6875 Mobile Relay - Temporary
809.6875 Mobile
This may be a Mobile Repeater used Statewide as needed.

This is an update for these Trooper Post, in case the info has not already been posted.
I am not hearing any repeater activity from either Trooper Post as of this Post from my location.

Huntsvile/Decatur State DPS

Update:
On Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014.
Was hearing Decatur State dispatch report interference to Mobile units trying to talk to them.
Decatur State was using 154.92000 Base-to-Car.
Mobile units were being covered up by Dothan State.

Today, Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014. Extreme VHF Band opening.
Now hearing Decatur State dispatch using 158.79000 Base-to-Car with 131.8 PL
Previous PL tone was 107.2, not sure if they changed PL tone or what has happened.
Unsure if they switched frequency and PL tone due to the interference or what.
Was hearing them on the 154.92000 and 158.79000 Base-to-Car at the same time
but I am not hearing them on 154.92000 Base-to-Car today.

Also hearing a Public Works or Utility Company repeater out of Georgia on 159.21000 with a 107.2 PL tone.
Same freq. as the Car-to Base for 155.50500.
Is anyone else hearing the same thing?

No repeater activity yet for the Jacksonville Post or at least as far as I can tell.
Found the issue with the Decatur Post.
Apparently they are switching towers every so often for units to hear them better in either Jackson or DeKalb County.
On some transmissions they are using 154.920 (CSQ) and 158.790 (107.2 PL ) Base-to-Car at the same time
then the next time they are using only 158.790 (131.8 PL ) Base-to-Car.
I thought I might be hearing the new repeater for Ft. Payne but I am only hearing Base-to-Car no Mobile.
If it is the new repeater then it has very little or no hang time.
158.790 may need to be added in your scanners program list with both PL's of 107.2 & 131.8 or leave as CSQ otherwise
you will not hear traffic in that area when they switch towers.

Found the new repeater output freq. for Cheaha Mtn. licensed for the Jacksonville Post on 155.445 (WQVA829).
That freq. is currently being used as the input for trooper units in Cherokee & Etowah County.
Not sure how that's going to work but it may be possible by just having a different PL tone.
Otherwise a new input freq. will be needed for the repeater.
However the repeater is only listed as low power of only 15 watts of output.

Just found this new modification to the existing License (KA2108).
State of Alabama-Dept. of Public Safety. Location: Statewide Mobile Use.
Adding 4 new mobile frequencies to the existing license, FMN & P-25 Use.
Emissions are 11K0F3E, 8K10F1E.
Any ideas on the P-25 Emission being added?

When Huntsville doesn't have a dispatcher on duty, you will hear Decatur on the Huntsville & Dutton towers. Sometimes you will hear Huntsville State advise for units to "contact Decatur" that "Huntsville is 10-7" now.

I don't know if this has to do with the new repeater system but when I called the Birmingham Trooper Post I was told that "we're actually in Montgomery and we dispatch until the post opens" (it was about 2:00am)

That's correct. Most of the posts are closed after 10PM or midnight depending on the location. This is part of the consolidation of state law enforcement. They are not replacing all the employees that are retiring, so the night shift really does not exist. Headquarters (Montgomery) has the ability to dispatch state-wide, and answer all the post's phones.

I'm down in Baldwin County visiting family for several days. I haven't had much scanner time, but did hear the Mobile Dispatch Center the other day on the "05" frequency and PL. I also heard that traffic simulcast on the Mobile County Trunk.

Slightly off topic, but the 700Mhz Baldwin system sounds much better this time around. I heard several smaller PDs on their talk groups.

I have a SDR with me and hope to get a chance to run it on the Daphne NXDN system for a bit. I'll start a separate thread if I find anything.

At the hairdresser's, past the liquor store.
The Simplicty Approach:

After going over the new lists/frequencies, this is for those of us still with analog /no tone capable scanners.

Whereas we used to have three base and three mobile for DPS statewide, we now need to add two others.
154.8075 & 154.9275 will join 158.790, 154.920, 155.505, 159.030, 155.445, & 159.210 for a simple scanner line up for ALEA DPS Statewide. Note that 155.445 is used (or will be soon) as a repeater output in certain areas.

On a side note, seeing the State Trooper vehicle door decal change is sad. The new ALEA logo just doesn’t stand out like the Coat of Arms on the blue background. Alabama Law Enforcement Agency replacing Alabama Department of Public Safety on the back quarter panel doesn’t do anything for me either. Just last year the AL-DPS vehicle won second place in a nationwide contest of state police agency vehicles.

I have to confess that I kind of like the ALEA badge design. It just doesn’t work as a door decal.

154.92750 / 141.3 PL 50 Gadsden: Base & Cars both now heard on the repeater output.
As of Jan. 05/2015 this repeater above is now on the Air. The repeater was turned on about 09:15 CST today.
Sounds like they need to work out some bugs on the new repeater it's cutting out when Decatur is talking.
The repeater has a very short hang time and it sounds like the receiver is not receiving their traffic very good.

Decatur State is now Dispatching now for Etowah County units.
Trying to confirm if they have also taken over dispatching for units in Cherokee & DeKalb County.
Jacksonville State was dispatching those units.
Jacksonville State frequencies of 154.92000 / CSQ & 155.50500 / 131.8 have apparently now
been transferred over to Decatur and or Huntsville State for F units.

Jacksonville State is now transmitting on 158.79000 CSQ only.

AHP Troop-F: Update

As of Jan. 05/2015 these repeaters are now "On the Air".
The repeaters were turned on today. Appears that the Base-to-Car freq.'s at these sites were also shut down today.
Decatur State is now Dispatching for Cherokee, DeKalb & Etowah County units.

AHP Troop-F
Frequency - Type -- Tone --------- Alpha Tag ------ Description
158.79000 - RM ---- 131.8 PL --- 28 Dispatch ----- 28 Dispatch - Ft. Payne
154.92000 - RM ---- 107.2 PL --- 39 Dispatch ----- 39 Dispatch - Huntsville/Dutton
154.92750 - RM ---- 141.3 PL --- 50 Dispatch ----- 50 Dispatch - Gadsden/Boaz
Will have to check the Etowah County Alpha Tag, I missed what they said it was called.
I believe it should be 31 Dispatch but I could be mistaken, It may be 50 Dispatch since the repeater is located in Boaz.
This is what radio maintenance called the repeaters above.
Other repeaters may be coming online this week.
If you have PL's enabled on these please disable them and see what you can hear.

The Huntsville tower on Monte Sano is now repeating on 154.920. Cars coming in nice and clear. (It is the northernmost repeater site in the trooper's system.)

I saw what looked like a new AL Trooper vehicle on the 27th of December but I do not remember looking/seeing any new graphics. Do you or can you get a pic?
