What does it mean when you hear morrise code on your scanner?

I am also looking for help on my Pro-97 Trunking 1000 channel channer.

I need someone with a Pro-97 scanner to help me understand how to trunk, and I would like it if they could walk me threw it with them in a email (instant messangers?) I can't understand the owners manual.

I want to be able to pick up some "Digital" freqs. with my Pro-97 (a Police Officer said I can pick them up talking sometimes) but I can't understand trunking.

I would really like any help.

Thanks!

Some digital systems use analog on some of the talkgroups, but for the most part, you will need a digital scanner to pick up digital systems.

Croaker90,

One thing you might do, is go to www.starrsoft.com and download WIN 97. It's a really good programming software for the PRO 97. With the software it's really a matter of just filling in the blanks.

Having the software to program your scanner will make it easier to see how frequencies and talk-groups work together.

I owned a PRO 97 for a couple of years, so if I can be of more help, I use Yahoo Messenger, and your welcome to message me. My id is - 'ceasley76' without the quotes.

Morse Code is often used as a method of identifying the transmitter. Identifying the transmitter is (usually) required by the FCC.

Trunking can be a complex subject. Some information can be found here:

I am sorry to tell you that the PRO 97 CAN NOT receive/decode any digital signals. You must purchase a scanner capable of digital decoding in order to receive digital signals. The PRO-97, can, however, receive analog signals just fine.

You should read the forums on this site, read the Wiki (web link above) and then Re-read the users manual that came with your PRO-97. Once you have spent a few hours reading (and re-reading) you may have some specific questions for the users of the forums.
