• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

The problem is on a certin freq the led indicator light will not stop flashing even when they aren't transmitting I don't keep it on that channel much . When scan is mode is on it goes away but constantly scans picks up everything when scan is turned off only one freq acts up I can here them transmit well but then after a few mins I will dispatcher say open mic can someone look at code plug if I let them no the freq that is acting up so they can look at it seems only just be one that is acting up . Please contact me back leave email address for better response thank you .

Did you press the monitor button on the side to determine if someone/something is actually transmitting on the frequency? If you have PL/DCS on the receive side, you won't hear anything, you'll just see the red LED on top.

This also could be a secure setting. If someone else on the system is transmitting in secure mode and your radio is set to not unmute on an incorrect code, then you'll get the same symptom.

County fire 1 doesn't use secure mode *no I didn't press the monitor button . When light is flashing there is no transmission being made on radio reference live audio feed either. When I unscrew antenna it stops blinking then resumes . I can here then transmit on it though but after they transmit on it I will here county fire 1 check for open mic I notice when I turned off that channel it went away and they no longer said it on the live audio feed either every time I go that channel it does that . Can you look at the code plug if you no what that is for that specific freq if I give you that information can you look at it? The led light just flashes non stop only for that one even when no transmission being made. *

Yes, I can look at the codeplug, but I'm still thinking that the frequency itself is what is having the issue.
