I've used my 106 on both Windsor and MPSCS recently and it worked OK.. MPSCS simulcast can be a bit dodgy at times but Windsor was no problem. I can send you the file from my radio to try if you like. I use PSREdit for programming.
I made some nice progress tonight in troubleshooting this thing. I am currently and finally listening to MPSCS Detroit and Windsor and Wayne Simulcast using this scanner, by opening it up, and feeding the discriminator tap (TP4) into the line input of my PC and decoding the P25 signal with the Digital Speech Decoder (DSD) app. So now what? In one of my earlier posts, I suggested exactly this; that the problem was that the digital audio wasn't being decoded to an analog signal, and this pretty much confirms it. Radio Shacks support system sucks so bad though, I'm not allowed to talk to a tech directly, and if I did I get the feeling they don't really know anything anyway. Like I mentioned in this little clip of MPSCS sgnal from my scanner being decoded and played by my PC, I wonder if I can get any help from GRE, since they built this model. I guess I'll find out tomorrow.
Yeah I head some activity after I posted this. Same thing, it shows the info about the signal, (P25 etc etc) full strength signal, but no audio from the scanner. I I hear the audio fine from the application on the PC decoding the raw stream from the TP4 discriminator tap, just like I showed in the last clip.
That's all been done already, by both myself and Radio Shack. As I stated a few posts ago, I sent it into radio shack with the description "No P25 digital audio", and they charged me $50 for a firmware update (I should have updated it before I sent it) and said they did a full system check and everything was fine.
I think radio shack is useless, I submitted a ticket to GRE asking if they would service the pro 106 since it is essentially a PSR 500, no response all week though. There is talk all over the internet about GRE being out of business, so I don't know what to expect here.
