Did they change the Motor Carriers #'s I know the now closed post 24 Motor Carrier's where 24-90's and up to 24-99 I thought the whole State was # like that xx - 90's for MSP Motor Carriers

You are correct the 90 series was Motor Carriers throughout the state, but since the change I have noticed it now different in District #2.

All troopers now have their own individual callsign, they are no longer going by the car number. So far all 21-8X callsigns I have heard were all assigned to known MCD officers. Coincidense? could be, but so far I have not heard a D-2 MCD officer with anything but a 21-8X callsign.

Here are some of the callsigns I have heard during check in and the area they were either working in or starting from. The day shift during the work week tends to have more MCD officers working than the rest.

21-80 Macomb and in car 24-94
21-81 Oakland and in car 21-94
21-82 Chesterfield, and in car 29-91 (May be renumbered by now)
21-83 Detroit working the bridge
21-85 Detroit working the bridge
21-86 Macomb
21-87 Wayne
21-88 Wayne

I have not really paid that much attention to MSP outside of District #2 so it could be easily be something different.

Just heard Post 21 Dispatch (2007) Announce around 0203 EST Local Hours that their would be Maintenance on the radio network from 0330-0400 Hours and that interruption to the radio service could happen. Cut out up to 5 minutes at a time. Something about their consoles in their vehicles, something trunking, I am not sure what she said about the simulcasting Radio system being affected or NOT being affected....

Wish I listened a little more carefully to the dispatcher's announcement... :D

Any more info on this "maintenance" ?

Apparently, this scheduled maintenance outage will be affecting dispatch centers/consoles and tower sites in Zones 1 and 2. Unknown at this if other zones across the state are affected or not. Sounds like some sort of software or system upgrade is taking place.

Ok so in reading through the thread I finally have an idea of where the patrol areas are.

Now for a question I have not seen come up yet....

With the transition of Washtenaw CO to Dist 1.... Does this mean we will hear D1N and D1S dispatch traffic on the Northville tower (or the Wash CO Sim system) due to its close proximity to Washtenaw CO? Being in SE Oakland CO.... those are about the two sites I can get out that way.

Went by POST 24 in Richmond yesterday and seen a hand full of MSP cars still in the back lot with a TRAFFIC CRASH CONSTRICTION unit also. When are they closing that building? Last week in Detroit seen one of the MSP choppers leave City airport and K925 coding down 7Mile from Van Dyke. Also been hearing lots of radio traffic on 1398 (which is I-EVENT 34) STATION 20 chatting with MSP units working the Pontiac area.

So can someone tell me why I just heard a 1xxx unit checking into station 20? during his check-in he said he was working Monroe county. So why would he not be checking in with Station 10?

Also does anyone know if we will be able to pick up D1North and D1South on the Northville tower since it is so close to Washtenaw CO, which is now part of District 1?

I am not sure why the Monroe cars (14-XX) are still checking in with Station #20, but I hear them all the time as well, but so far it has been only for check in or out. They usually tell Station #20 they will be working off Monroe Central.

I haven't heard MSP D1 as much as I would have thought on the Northville tower. As a matter of fact I never heard or logged MSP D1 on Northville at all today. Washtenaw towers must be doing a good job!

From what I understand, the majority of the radios from Post #14 have not been reprogrammed or replaced. When they talk to Station 10, they do it over "MSP 1" Hopefully, this will change in the coming weeks or months. Personally, it sounds like the MSP don't have enough radio technicians anymore to do handle the reprogramming and rebanding projects that are on the burner right now.

I was going to suggest (half jokingly) that maybe Station 10 & Station 20 got consolidated. They combined 50 with 60, & then combined that with 80, after all.

MSP Dist 3

Been hearing the Sanilac County Central Dispatch calling the MSP units by 33xx since MSP's do-over.
Wondering if any other differences in other Counties in Dist. 3?

Question about MSP im thinking district 2. If you go to Oakland County there is a link for Oakland county sheriff it says that the sheriff does not broadcast there no more. I do understand this but, it also says MSP is there and it is very busy what I want to ask is why this frequency is not in the homepatrol as I have looked and so far I can't seem to find it. This frequency seems to be so much busier than the new chanels of the MSP .
Oakland County Sheriff Live Scanner Audio Feed
If I am missing something could I get some help please as I know that the RR audio is so much busier than my homepatrol MSP 2

What specific frequency/talkgroup are you talking about? MSP2 would clearly not be a "busy" frequency, as that's used for regionwide-type events.

As I said Oakland County Sheriff Live Scanner Audio Feed is the state police in the Detroit area and it seems to have so much more on it's broadcast I don't know what frequency this is but it is a MSP frequency I know this just by listining to it. I don't seem to be able to find this on the HP1 as i have searched fo it.

It sounds like several different talkgroups on that feed. I heard MSP, Wayne Sheriff and Statewide 2 in a short period of time.

I have been listining

It did get busy just today because a State policeman was injured in some sort of a conflict Davidson and Goddard in Detroit and for the most part it is MSP all over the Detroit area.

By looking at the database on this website I would guess that the audio feed uses either the Holly tower(control channel freq. 868.925) or the Southfield tower(control channel freq. 868.4625) on the MPSCS system. Then they would be using talkgroup ID 2007 for MSP Post 21 North Dispatch or talkgroup ID 2008 for MSP Post 21 South Dispatch.

sorry

Just so you know I have the TG's 2007 and 2008 and the talk that I hear is not even close to the talk I hear on the Oakland county chanel but it is the MSP and mostley from Detroit but I also hear them from the 275 area 94 area and the 96 area. On my scanner I do hear MSP Macomb, Oakland, and Some Detroit all on the freeway this seems like its not all freeway traffic and I even heard the aircraft on this chanel.
