• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

tossed XP SP3 on there.. installed the MTS software and wallah.. smooth as silk. I can read.. write.. all that now.. no probs.

Yep, using the supporting operating system makes all the difference in the world. 2008 is calling and wants their CPS back!

Since I have waited this long.. the stuff I want to listen to, has switched to digital.. so I have these 4 MTS2000's (800mhz) that are now worthless to me. Time to put these, and the cable, up for auction.. oh well.. it was fun while it lasted.

Tis the case everywhere. The MTS2000, while a great platform, is over 20 years old today. The Jedi product line made it's debut during the 1st Clinton administration. Manufacturing ended in late 2005, early 2006. The systems these radios were designed to operate on have been EOL'ed by their maker. While thousands are still in service, many more are being dumped onto the used market.

If your 800MHz MTS2000's have good displays, they are more valuable in parts than in whole. Working MTS2000s on VHF/UHF with good displays are becoming rare, but the VHF/UHF ones are still worth more as they can be used on analog conventional systems- while they are still around. The front display/keypad boards are interchangeable with among all the Jedi radios (MTS2000/MT2000/MTX8000/9000 and JT1000)

Good luck with your auctions.

Yup.. all good displays up top. No keypads.. not on any of these. 2 have the R06.58 and the other 2 have the R08.71... Don't know the diff from R08.71 and R08.73.. oh well.. they all work for me.

Now to get these up and try and find me some software for this other radio...

I'm wondering if anyone has found a schematic for the JEDI display keypad boards. I am aware these can be found for low $, but I'd still like to know more about them.
