I got my first digital/ trunktracker (BC 796 D) scanner a few months ago. Since I wanted to program the talkgroups individually, I have had the scanner in 'ID Search" most of the time.
I alpha tagged the first bank I programed rather quickly (Loudoun Co VA). Soon afterwards, I noticed many "new" IDs in that bank. I really thought they were changing the talk group IDs.
At first I noticed this only in the Loudoun Co TRS, but in the past few weeks I also noticed the same thing on two other systems ( Fauquier Co VA and a local business TRS), on a much less frequent basis. All the systems involved are Motorola Type 2's.
On the Loudoun County system it may be very pronounced one day and barely there the next.
I hit 'resume' when one of the 'new' TG IDs showed and found the same transmission on the designated TG ID. In one case, I heard the same transmission on 3 ID's!
My question: is this quark of the scanner, the individual radio systems, or all type 2's? I should also note that I get fair reception (1 bar but usually get messages clear).
Also, in updating the list for the local TRS, I identified about 7 TG's for Adelphia. Many seem to have transmissions each day. Should I include them all just be safe?
