Who needs Ebay for that? Just walk into many 2-way shops and buy a TK-7160/TK-7180 or a VX-2200 and tell them you work in the 'patch in NE BC and Alberta, and you will get a brand spanking new mobile 1/2wave on a mag mount, and a cig-plug on the power able, all nicely mounted on a headrest rack... With anywhere between 128-450 channels programmed in.

Trying to figure out how this helps anyone outside of AB/BC? Could the RoC have a scheme

Reason I ask, TAFL seems to show certain VHF frequencies for resources (lumber
typically) in Quebec that appear widely assigned in a regional sense. With fallen oil prices
maybe we'll see an upswing in other resource sectors...and demand for communications...
or maybe not...
