That would be Longyearbyen on the Svalbard archipelago, probably one of the most desirable MW DX listening posts in region 1 for being so far up north and being surrounded by the Greenland and Barents Sea, or if you will, Europe's Alaska.
When you're on that frequency again, check if you hear a faint 1s long 1kHz beep every 2 seconds underneath other stations there, that would be an experimental station with whopping 6W from northern Bavaria (1485 is one of 3 odd frequencies used for that kind of stuff and low power local stations like Longyearbyen, which is completely hopeless to hear from here for that reason, bidirectional doesn't really cut it here).DXerPaulAK

What I find stunning is that there even seems to be some kind of constant (local?) QRM underneath the signal.
No, thats just the atmospheric noises on a weak signal

I have a feeling the real dx season has kicked in for me with a few days in the last week of transpolar reception.. it seems that stuff once it starts, its "on"... it doesnt disappear for long...

1449kHz IRIB World Service, Bandar-e Torkaman, Iran in Turkmen on Sat Oct 16 at 1510UTC. Signal is pretty decent with a bit of a het from KLAM 1450 300 miles away but gets abundantly clear just a little over into the recording. I'm guessing at the rate at which the guy is talking and a few of the words I pick out, this is some kind of religious recitation/speech. 400kw via 5835 mile trans-polar path. HA! I only DX in the morning, no night stuff till later in winter.. its still too light out too late for me to do mornign and evening.
Im up early.. do some work for KSKO and some of my freelance work early..... and go out dxing.. later in winter, when tis dark till 1030am, ill take breaks dxing and go inside to do work.
It all evens out

Turns out my 1179 isnt Iran but a 30KW from Iraq and my 1395 is likely Armenia. And my un ID 1413 under/over Moldova is l;ikely Oman
